Virtual Weather Station is a software package that is used to retrieve data from weather stations to the PC through the Internet. The data can be used for comprehensive monitoring, analysis of weather, and for displaying the weather data. It has got many unique features such as: providing different types of colorful gauges, graphs and charts, etc. for displaying the data.

The application allows the user to arrange all of the virtual instruments based on personal preferences or application. It allows fully customized desktop. It can also visualize weather data in "real-time" mode in personal computers, and one of many different weather stations available from Ambient Weather.

Virtual Weather Station also provides the most advanced tools for publishing weather station data on the Internet. Posting these data to the Wunderground.com and Weatherforyou.com servers is free and easy. Many protocols are helping in publishing the data on the Net. For instance, FTP can be used to send images, HTML for pages and data files automatically to the Internet.

Virtual Weather Station is easily compatible with different types of weather stations, such as Davis Weather Stations in addition to Vantage Pro and Pro2, Vantage Pro Plus and Pro2 Plus, Wizard III, Monitor II, and Perception. Another one is Oregon Scientific Weather Stations, with the WMR-100, WMR-918, WMR-928N, WMR-968 and WM-918. Beside this, it also supports Texas Weather Instruments Stations and Columbia Weather Systems Weather Stations.

This software package needs Windows operating system, and works from all the versions right from windows 95 down to Vista.
